I jammed my hip at the bottom of a snatch on Friday. I carried on the session; maxing out my C&J and front squat. I woke on Saturday and I couldn’t even pull my socks on! It has eased a fair bit but squatting was a no go today. I could barely get into my start position to snatch…it took quite a LONG warm up before the position became comfortable! Today was meant to be full snatch, full C&J, snatch pulls and DLs, finished off with front squats. I had to revert to powers today and (SHOCK/HORROR) drop the squat!
(Power) snatch – 82% x 1 x 3 (90kg) – this was from low blocks
(Power) clean & jerk – 82% x 1 x 3 (120kg)
Snatch pulls – 95% x 3 x 3 (105kg)
Snatch DL w pause at knee – 103% x 3 x 3 (112.5kg)
The hip is feeling better all the time but I’m not going to rush back to squatting…this week!
